stir crazy inside =

a trip to the park. It has been revolting here weather wise this weekend and while I don't know if I am a good mother or not we booted the boys out into it for a while. This afternoon it was time to get out again. the sun was sort of out and Daz needed to get out of the house too. So we went to the lake. for a little while.

NEw park, new play

 

I need a push in a new direction to bring some more life to my photos. So while Daddy was sick at home we went out and about. I was testing out a) the new focus set up on my lens and b) some action/movement type shots to get Ty more involved in the camera. I like them!

A little painting for me!

An incredibly talented artist Karen Sorbello of KLS Images created this gorgeous digital painting of my Tyler! I just love it! I have received some fabulous advice as to what and how to print and display it so I cannot wait to have it up on the wall!

finding hidden spots to shoot

This week I have really been on a kick to improve my photography so Ty and I have been out and about. We went to a local park that has these really cool graffiti walls . I am determined to take both boys back if I can to get some good ones together.  that may be a mega undertaking but we shall see.

I have felt like i have been in a bit of a slump lately there is not wow factor to my photos so poor Ty has been awesome in helping me work on a few things. Here is our cheeky monkey at the soccer grounds that has very cool trees as a location to shoot at!

    I have been wanting to shoot the kids in the field next to T’s school and was determined to do it this week. Since I am trying out backlighting again we did it before school! Tyler had a blast, he was running in them pulling them out and ultimately falling down! Then I got this little gem…

and a couple more that he is his cheeky self in!

Practicing with a grey card has benefits…

  Caden is happy to have photos again! Woohoo! I am determined to figure out how to use my grey card effectively. This is supposed to help me with correct colour and improved speed in editing. The jury it still out. but I grabbed the boys and the camera and the card to test it out. I am determined!

My budding photographer took these!

Caden was in time out for a little while today while Daddy and Tyler went shopping. When he got out he asked to take some pictures with my new camera. He did a really good job using the square in the middle to point it at my head! and we tested out the timer too to get a fabulous picture of us together - a very rare thing for me to have his happy.

My budding photographer!

Tyler has been my model for the last couple of weeks because he will let me take photos for the cost of a couple of mini marshmallows and or a trip to the park! anyway he wanted the tables turned today and wanted to take some photos of me! So I handed over my SLR and he took this one...

I am so proud of my little man! he did a great job!

Splish splash

The kids decided to hit our wading pool at 7.30 this morning! hope none of the neighbours wanted to sleep in!  Sunday morning and there we were outside. luckily it was hot enough to do it! 

 

Daz took the boys to Bunnings to get the beginnings of art boards to hang on the wall to create wall mounted easels for them. Here they are decorating them. Daddy even painted C with his 'sword' standing on a rainbow on his!

Day 28

     Man it is hot here today. It is supposed to be at least 40 degrees but it wouldn't surprise me to be hotter. We have finally decided what we are doing with our Internet and just have to wait about a week to do it. The boys went off to school ok again today. Will see how they went soon. We had a chat with Caden this morning and we have decided that since he is getting so much bigger now that he can stay up a little bit later than Tyler. Hopefully that will help with him going to sleep easier at night. I dropped of more resume's today so hopefully that will turn into some work pretty soon. We bought some more curtains today for our bedroom. They are like the ones in the lounge room but a dusky brown I guess you would call it. They look quite nice - would be nicer if I ironed them first but hey you get that!

The boys were great when they got home from school. We filled the bucket with water and they ran under the sprinkler for a while to cool down. C went to bed easier tonight but still wasn't asleep till 9. I think the days sleeps are going to have to go. We rearranged the lounge room a little bit and Caden's comment was "Wow Mummy it is so clean!' I think we need to tidy a bit more!

We had a little visitor on the door this afternoon - a bright green praying mantis. He sat on the door for ages. About 93.0 tonight I was growling at Josy for banging on the door all the time till I realised that she was climbing it to try and get the insect.

Picnic in the park

Tonight we took the boys for a picnic in the park. We grabbed KFC on the way and sat and enjoyed the sunshine. The heat was starting to wane a little bit so it was quite comfortable there. We had a couple of ducks visit us to beg a chip then we hit the play equipment. Even Daz and I tested out the swings!! We actually got to check out the sunset from the look out tonight!
