Tyler's 3yo session

I was able to do a mini session with Tyler today - complete with mini marshmallows that are his absolute favourite. I was quite happy with how they turned out. I was cranky with myself that the one shot I got of his absolutely fantastic smile I messed up and couldn't recover it. I am going to see If he will let me do another one soon!

Jonquils and a rain storm

Oh the things we do to get a photo! You would think that rain and cold winter weather would not really make you want to go an take photos outside? A ray of sunshine (despite still raining) and a whole heap of jonquils in bloom I was out in the pink fluffy slippers getting my pics!!

nothing like travelling to do these....

HATS

I am becoming a bit addicted to yarn and fluffy wool! I bought the kk a couple of months ago and on the way to Sydney last Thursday this is what I managed to create. With a little help from Heather (Dewey 06) at 2peas we managed to make the pom poms using the finger method she suggested! I cant wait to get another newborn to try it out!

Taronga Zoo

Today we visited Taronga Zoo as part of the accommodation package we had. The boys were fantastic. We hired prams today as we didn't want to have to carry the boys up and down the hills of the zoo. All Tyler wanted to visit was the snakes. He was as happy as could be that they were first! then off we went to see all of it. The baby elephant was a big draw as was the tigers and lions. The huge seals were great to watch. The red Panda's were actually quite active which was cool. The gorilla's got into a fight right in front of us! here are a few pics from the day!

Darling Harbour and the Wildlife Experience

Our aim for today was to take the kids to the aquarium at Darling Harbour. It is awesome there. I have been a couple of times and just loved it. By the time that we finally got into town and parked the line up was at least an hour and a half wait to get in. With tired munchkin's that was SO not going to happen. We decided to go around to the Sydney Wildlife World and see what it was like. We started with the snakes so Tyler was happy. AS I started taking photos I realised just how much I have learnt and that I can adjust to the different lighting conditions. mind you it took me most of the way around to stop getting blinkies all the time meaning that I was starting to nail my exposures finally. Here are a few that I have resized and processed. more to follow later!

Trip away for a couple of days

Today we finally left for a our getaway to Sydney. We bought tickets to Lazy Town on stage and have kept it a secret/surprise for the kids. Daz had last night off work and the boys had haircuts this morning - they look so much better! Tyler is such a champion at having his hair cut not a murmur. Caden on the other hand howls the place down! We caught up with Grandma and Papa before we left and then we hit the road. The boys travelled really well going to sleep pretty well straight away. About halfway through the trip we drove through a rainbow!

Thank goodness for Nelly the Navman as she directed us through the outskirts or Sydney to Ian and Rhondda's house with no worries. The boys took a little while to warm up to them then Tyler was happy to sit with Ian showing him a new book about counting different feet. SONY DSC

It was the first time that Tyler has met them and Caden doesn't remember the last time as he was 4.5 months old at the time.

Birthday Eve and this is how he woke up...

SONY DSC

There is nothing like a temp, feeling crappy and a chest infection to stop a nearly 3 year old on the eve of his birthday. Fingers crossed that the antibiotics kick in tonight and he is  A LOT  better when he wakes up for his party! He has been looking forward to it all week. It has been the first thing out of his mouth in the morning - only 3, 2, 1.... more sleeps and G'ma and Papa come and my party!

PS I love the pics you guys have been posting. Sorry I haven't been here  much to comment and post. Life very rudely intruded with work and kids! I barely even picked the camera up!

back tomorrow with cake and party pics (I hope!) with my soon to be 3yo!!

Family day

we took the kids to the movies for the first time today. We went to see the new Ice Age 3 movie. we all really enjoyed. Tyler got through about an hour of it before he became restless. a packet of chips and he was all good again!

We hit the park after that and the boys loved the sunshine.

Caden wouldn't let me take a photo so Tyler was it!

Then in the afternoon I tried to shoot my pics for the NLCC assignment. I think it is ok but been too chicken to post for cc this time Uhh silly me!

It is getting bigger and bluer...

yes the last remaining Yabbie is still alive (much to my disappointment I want fish back) (don't laugh mum, You know that I don't clean the tank either way!!). Since Daz re-arranged the lounge room and the Yabbie got moved into the corner he/she/it has been a bit more sociable - I guess because they can't see all of the happenings. I captured Yabbie peeing out of his/her/it's log the other day.

creative?!

I am developing another creative outlet. I admit that I don't do it very often and I really prefer the newborn size because it is way easier and quicker to get it done! but here is one on the way To Coota on Saturday and I finished it off today with a little model that at least didn't mind me moving her into different positions!SONY DSC SONY DSC
