This series of photos also double up for my POTD topic of motion. The boys just love these helicopter toys that they got for Christmas. with the sun streaming in and the house warm , my boy getting better (plus an excuse to practice my photography!). what more can you ask?

POTD {architectural details}

hmm details ok so I didn't quite see the details part of the topic but I did take a cool pic of a building the other day when Emily and I  were on our jaunt that I put a 70's action over it and I liked it! Oh and a texture too!

Change in the air {POTD: earth}

March has hit with the customary cooling of the air. It is so nice to have the nice crisp days with the clear blue skies. I can't say that I like the cool nights but that's what flanny jammies are for!! On our jaunt around town on Friday night we stopped so that I could capture the changes that we see in the trees this time of year.

I just love the colours in the trees and on the ground as they drop. It is all happening a little bit earlier than it did last year. Maybe it means that winter will be long and cold. we will have to wait and see!

Motion - on the swing

this weeks POTD topic is motion. I have actually been able to get a few pics to do with this but this is my FAVOURITE from today. I was reading Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson a few weeks ago and one of the assignments was to capture motion. Anyway one suggestion was to sit on a swing balance yourself and your camera focus on your feet and take the shot. So while we were waiting to pick Daddy up from work we hit the Lake Park for a play and of course photos! We had a heap of fun and I figured of I can fit into the swing then I might as well try it! so here it is...

Up the tree!

    Tyler and Caden love to play outside with the kids from next door and today they were climbing trees across the road. Tyler is our little monkey see monkey do so here  he is up the tree!

I was really happy with how these turned out. The last one is really soft on his face but all the others are good. I think finally the penny is dropping with my photos, the metering and everything is finally coming together in camera and in editing. FINALLY!!

Light 'em up footies! {motion}

Easter Bunny bought the boys these really cool light' em up footies so each night just after dark we have been going out to the back yard and playing with them It is a total blast! The boys tuck them down their shirts, they run around, kick them you name it they do it all cool cause it is pretty much pitch black and all you can see is the footy! So of course I had to have a go at getting pics of it! I had to consult the manual for this one because there is no fireworks setting on my camera! so I kept it in Manual, set the meter to bulb, and used the remote trigger because I had to manually hold the shutter open. ok the blurry lines are the kids running  like loons up and down the yard! The first one is T's footy being thrown up in the air (love the zigzags!), then we tried out writing the boys letters with a little help from Daddy!

Playing with G'ma and Papa

After Daddy and Papa came home from golf and the boys had a sleep/rest we headed to the park for a kick and a hit and a throw!
