giggles, grins, cuddles, kisses, tears, parties,

 

All in a day! First day of school holidays. I had a shoot this morning, Daz took the boys shopping for a birthday present for Caden’s party this afternoon, priced getting some shirts screen printed, had a rest, watched the footy, Went to the markets on the lake and had lots of grins and giggles and chuckles and kisses and cuteness from the boys. Things are slowly moving in a direction that I want to see for me. my meds are into the first day of being decreased and I am finally feeling like there is a tiny bit of improvement. It may be that I am accepting what is happening and dealing with it a bit rather than sinking low low low to never feeling like me again. the boys and we are soo excited that ther eis only one more sleep and they get sleep overs at G’mas & Papa’s. I am not 100% sure who is the most excited but Ty might be. All day it was “ I have to pack my favourite toys and a few books and my pillow. then thinks a bit then oh an mum you can pack my clothes” lol too cute.

the AFL grandfinal was on and while my initial thoughts was to have a nanna nap I ended up feeling the need to be creative. so I dragged out the hot glue gun and ribbons and clips and elastic and had some girly creative time while watching the footy with Daz.

robot freak out

Mark this last few weeks on the calendar in big red permanent marker!! yes the boys have been dong painting and craft! AGAIN! and I am not screaming internally at the mess. why? because for 45 minutes I did not hear a peep out of this kid until….

 

Yep you read it right he got paint on his finger. Black paint no less. AND it didn’t matter that he was already coated in red green and blue paint. On NO he had a major freak out about it until I scraped it off.

 

and here it is half finished. I guess tomorrow is a good day to take a shot of the finished product!

salty glitter collage

The boys were keen to test out the salty glitter we made yesterday so armed with some cardboard, glue, paint, wool, paper it was gluing time!

They were happy enough for about half an hour before Tyler decided that he really needed more glue and added it straight from the bottle to his collage. Luckily Daddy walked out just in time to rescue it (sort of!)

Ahh school holidays…

Cold weather + school holidays isn't a great deal of fun to a couple of bored kiddos. Good thing that we had some crafty things on hand to work on. I bought some noodles to thread and glue and paint as well as making some salt glitter. I wasn't sure how well it was going to turn out but I am rather impressed with – especially since we always have salt and food colouring on hand.

The recipe…

1/4 cup salt and 4-5 drops food colouring.

mix it thoroughly and put in the microwave to 2 minutes.

Spread out on baking paper till cool and use it to decorate.

see super easy.

 

Ok so there are paints and glue today. the glitter is still drying for another day.

enter the sock monster…

Take one awful weathered Sunday, bored kiddos, one box, some coloured paper, sticky tape and a heap of socks and you have a sock eating monster to try and feed…

painting a pirate ship

 

Daddy brought some some ‘paint in a bottle’ today and got very creative with some glue, some boxes,  some mailing tubes and Jolly Rodger printouts. So Argh Me Hearties it is off to pirate ship painting time!

Teh kiddo shirts came off, the daddy shirts turned into paint smocks came on but the bulldog clips were very useful! and the boys had a blast! Some serious concentrating was happening!

A little painting for me!

An incredibly talented artist Karen Sorbello of KLS Images created this gorgeous digital painting of my Tyler! I just love it! I have received some fabulous advice as to what and how to print and display it so I cannot wait to have it up on the wall!

ABC books.

The last day or so I have been working on ABC books for the boys that involve both being able to read the little stories about them and also just learning the alphabet more. Caden has sat and read it all the way through twice so I think I can say that it is a hit!
