Caden’s class gave their first assembly item today! He was so excited. Their first one they played the Adams family with percussion instruments. He just loved to hit the tambourine! We had heard about it all week.
To finish off they had the infants stand up with them and they sang some songs!

Today was the assembly at school that Caden’s class did the readings. That meant that either in pairs or individually they got up in front of all the K-2 classes and said a few words asking and instructing the students and teachers. Caden got up by himself and did an outstanding job on his one line! ( Can you tell I have my lots of mummy pride shirt on? lol!) Of course I had the camera and here is our boy speaking his line! “Can Mrs E please hand out the best class award” :)

It was national walk to school safely day today and Cargill sponsored a breakfast for the kids at the park next to his school. They were also donating soccer and basketballs to the school. It was supposed to start about 8 so we went down and since no one was there the boys and I hit the park for a while.
We found a dragonfly that was glistening in the sun -
Then some play at the park, climbing – no sliding as it was too wet. but Ty managed to find every dirt plie he could to fall in!
And because you know I cant resist trying out person only shot here are a couple!

Once we survived cranky kids and cranky mummy, sleep is a godsend! Caden woke up and was happy to ‘work beside me on my desk today. We went through some of my school files today to see if we could find some worksheets and was happy to do anything. He spotted a magic number table that I set up for a class a couple of years ago looking at the addition of 1-10. We grabbed the matchsticks and off we went. He went away and after dinner came back and we worked on it for nearly 45 minutes. Here is how far we got today – plus he mastered writing 8’s!
After a while he was starting to see patterns and work out the next number without counting on or with the matchsticks! Yay Caden!! Well done little man! You are going sooo well!

Caden had his first Easter Hat Parade today at school. Of course as with everything that I do I leave it to the last minute. This time it was because I had NO IDEA what I was going to do! Turned out I had a brain flash and the hat was thought of and it didn’t cost much either which was a bonus!

Tomorrow is Caden’s Easter Hat parade at school and to be perfectly honest I think I am more excited about it than he is. I have asked him what kind of hat he wants and I get a blank look. Well that hasn’t helped me find my mojo! Inspiration struck today as to what to do and here is the construction – well the constructed hat.

Caden had his athletics carnival today. We thought we may have missed the first race but snuck it in! Here he is in action. I may have posted some of these before but Cant remember!

Caden has really come along in school this year! The last few weeks we have been getting him out of the habit of writing all his letters in his words in capital letters. Tonight he sat down at his desk in his room copying and drawing and colouring. Soon he came out with the entire alphabet written in lower case letters! Finally a click!
