WAITING..... { NEW BEGINNINGS}

I just shared these on my photography blog but they are so close to my heart that I had to put them here too! This is my best friend. She and I only met 3 years ago (almost to the day actually) when I went to work in the local pathology lab. Anyway it didn't take us long to figure out that we can talk each other under the table and her husband to realise that the nights she worked with me to not expect her home on time :)

It isn't long now till we get to meet this much loved and anticipated bubba. My best friend is now 36 weeks pregnant and we cannot wait until her bub decides to come out to play! We got together for coffee, cake, chatter and of course photos. I love the look of her big pregnant Buddha belly. Isn't it great! She just glows and looks awesome. Enjoy Shell you are gorgeous and I cannot wait to meet your bub!

We got together 3 weeks ago too and I haven't had a chance to blog them with Christmas getting in the way so here are some pics a little earlier!

The paper game {beginning of the day}

We are on holidays and have been for about 3 weeks now maybe 4 I am not sure the weeks have blurred a bit. Anyhoo that means that I have bored children. They are letting me know in no uncertain terms that a) I spend too much time on the computer and b) a ream of paper makes for a really really good game until mum discovers what the game really is. Oh yes you can imagine 1000 sheets of paper in the toy room not in the drawer.... On no the floor is a much better place for it.

Oh and the other battle I lost.... I was really annoyed with Tyler for doing something that now I cannot remember what but I digress... I told him that I was cranky because he "kept pushing my buttons."

Oh yes you can imagine the 3yo's answer.... "which buttons?"

POTd {beginning of a new craze}

Caden has discovered Bakugans. What are they you ask? Well they are these toys that roll up into a ball and if you throw them down (supposed to be on the special magnetic card) then they open up and become robot thingies. He is becoming obsessed with them and because he is Tyler is too. It feels like the house has been invaded by bakugan.

(they make good bribery though :P)

with a bit - ok and awful lot of pleading and begging and arguing and finally bribing throughout the day we took photos. Finally achieving a shot that I had been after for ages. not the same but a great one none the less. I haven't edited yet so it will have to go up later. As a result of both of the boys placating me Daz picked them up a new bakugan holder thingie and a new one.   Again been a bit slack on the whole take a pic of the new ones but they are quite hard to get off the boys even for a moment!

{beginning to rebuild} I got it!!....

I finally got around to getting my hands on a new 50mm f1.8 II canon lens from my 50D. Oh it is sweet. I knew that I was missing something and it so feels right on the camera now! Not that I don't love my Tamron lens but I have a feeling deep down that I am a prime girl. Now to save for the 85mm!

Ok I confess....

ok I confess I am a self portraitaholic! I do it all the time. It doesn't matter if I have my big SLR, my little SLR or our new (and old) point and shoots I take em. They make me smile and crack me up every time I see the silly things I do. Hey it gets me in the pics too, they are fun and I get good ones too :). Daz just rolls his eyes and pokes out his tongue or pulls the funny faces when I drag him into them. But he gives me great smiles too! At least we get in the pics together!

So.... we gave the kids (ok it is supposed to be for them but me too!) a little samsung p&s this one...

well along with my new mobile (which I needed desperately since my old really didn't like the washing machine nor the cycle I put it through) and a couple of cars of the boys and no I didn't crop it cause I am too lazy lol! huh well waddaya know looking at this pic and there is a big ol sticker that says a self portrait mode... hmm gonna have to check that out lol!

And here are a few from Christmas day - with Daz, my dad, cause I was taking the pics at Christmas lunch and I didn't not want to be in a photo, and sitting on the mailbox laughing at everyone playing T-ball doing what I do best! lol (Xmas day ones with canon 50D NYE with samsung p&s)

Ready... Aim.... Hahaha  Mama shot you first! lol! The new rockets we bought for them in Canberra - they are soooo cool! Soft foam and go on roofs really easy, heap and heaps of fun. Keeps us all entertained so easily lol!

we busted out the slip-n-slide

The boys got a slip-n-slide for Christmas this year that has a bubble blower as well as a sprinkler thingy on top of an arch. It is pretty cool They have been asking and asking for ages to use it and because of their coughs we have been really reluctant to let them. So the rain seemed to    settle things and the coughs are better... these are the results of the waiting and waiting and waiting....

POTD {beginning to play with Macros}

I don't have a lot of confidence in macro shots  - I keep practicing and practicing whenever I go to mum and dads as mum has the green thumb in our family. Daz is pretty good but I forget to water them! Here are a few from Christmas day after the rain. I have used Jess's vintage dreams textures and actions on these to have a play with them too.

POTD {beginning to tear up}

Today we had to say bye to our best friends who after a far to brief a stay back here for Christmas are headed back to the US. We were going ok till the first call came over and the tears welled. It is just not the same as living in the same town when you get to chat on skype. Caden took a couple but I ended up doing what I do best and the self portrait with the p&s.

He loves to paint

Tyler has been asking for days and days to do outside painting. Well today he got to! he had such a lovely time quietly painting and showing us his work. Great job little man! We have been noticing lately that his very much preferred colour is blue. Everything is blue!

POTD {beginning to learn}

This year I am intending to follow through with POTD. I know that I started it last year and only got to around April with staying on topic and posting about.

This year is a huge beginning for my little man he is off to big school in just a few short weeks. As such he is so ready for school and is beginning to write and want to read and draw and everything that is associated with the desperation of learning new things.
